Laser Skin Treatments New Jersey
Taking care of your skin can be incredibly difficult sometimes. Washing your face, applying moisturizer, and protecting it from too much sun are all good things, but even then, there is only so much you can do to prevent skin issues from occurring.
You don’t have to let your skin issues be a source of frustration. At Sperling Dermatology, we have provided countless people in New Jersey area with the personalized professional skin care they need. One of the best ways we provide this level of care is with unique laser skin treatments.
Using Lasers to Revitalize Your Skin
Contrary to what you might see on TV, lasers are not always dangerous. Advancements in technology and approaches to skin care have allowed for the development of high-tech laser devices specifically designed to provide comprehensive skin care or to target specific skin issues. These devices can be finely tuned to deliver specific levels of care in order to suit the needs of each individual patient.
At Sperling Dermatology, we carry a variety of laser devices and can use them to address the skin issues that you have. Dr. Shari Sperling, our very own board-certified dermatologist, has been properly trained to operate these devices and has the experience required to deliver outstanding care and results to all of our patients.
During your consultation, we will take the time to analyze your skin, listen to your reasons for pursuing laser skin treatments, and develop a treatment plan to provide you with your ideal results.
The Skin Issues You Can Treat with Lasers
Lasers are an excellent option for non-surgical face tightening at Sperling Dermatology in Morris County, New Jersey. The energy emitted by these devices triggers the skin-renewal process and the production of proteins like elastin and collagen. Laser skin tightening is great for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and addressing mild skin sagging.
Laser skin resurfacing is the ultimate exfoliation treatment. The laser can easily target a variety of texture and pigmentation issues like:
- Age spots
- Acne scars
- Rough skin texture
- Sun spots
- Spider veins
We also offer laser treatments for more specific issues. We currently offer:
- Laser tattoo removal
- Laser hair removal
- Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
These treatments are safe and offer outstanding results. Most laser treatments will require more than one treatment session in order to provide the desired results. Our team can work with you to develop a treatment plan that works with your schedule.
There is no downtime required after most laser treatments, and you should be able to return to work immediately following your treatment. You may experience some redness, swelling, and a slight tingling sensation, but these issues are to be expected and should dissipate quickly.
Contact Sperling Dermatology today to schedule a consultation for your laser treatment. We can answer any questions you may have about the treatments we offer. Once we have decided on your ideal treatment, we can provide you with the outstanding results you need.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a highly recommended treatment for those who are looking to significantly reduce unwanted hair growth. This treatment is best suited for those with light skin and dark, coarse hair. The laser does NOT treat white or grey hair. You will need between 6-10 treatments about 6 weeks apart. The area that is being treated should be shaved 24-48 hours prior to each treatment. You CANNOT tweeze, wax, pluck, thread or bleach the area prior to or for the duration of treatment. There should also be no sun exposure 2-4 weeks before and after treatment. There is no down time after treatment.
Photofacial (also known as IPL)
IPL improves pigmentation issues such as sun spots, melasma (dark pigmentation) and freckles. IPL also improves broken blood vessels, rosacea, hemangiomas (collections of blood vessels) and cherry angiomas. Good for light or Asian skin tones. 3-5 treatments, 4 weeks apart are needed. Sun exposure should be avoided 2-4 weeks prior to and after treatment. There is no down time after treatment. It is advised not apply retinol products 1 week before and after treatment.
ClearLift (Lunch Time Face Lift)
ClearLift is a non-ablative treatment that reduces deep wrinkles, crow’s feet, stretch marks and sun damaged skin. The ClearLift improves skin laxity and deep collagen buildup. Best results are achieved with 3-5 treatments 2-4 weeks apart. Collagen production will be seen 6-8 weeks after treatment. There is no down time after treatment. Touch ups are suggested every 6 months -1 year for continued results.
iPixel (Fractional Ablative Skin Resurfacing)
The iPixel is an ablative laser that treats fine lines and wrinkles, scars, uneven texture, stretch marks and promotes collagen buildup. You will need 2-4 treatment (best results with 4) at 4 weeks apart. There will be 2-3 days of down time with this treatment. Skin will be red, rough and peeling during that time. Results will continue 6 months after treatment. A topical numbing cream will be applied before each treatment. The first 24 hours after treatment you may want to sleep in an elevated position and use ice packs. Aquaphor should be applied the first few days after treatment as well. If you are prone to cold sores please make Dr. Sperling aware. Retinols should be avoided before and after treatment for a few days. Treatments can be scheduled 2 weeks after receiving Botox and/or fillers. iPixel will result in baby smooth skin.
NIR (Near Infrared)
NIR heats the top layer of the skin resulting in tightening. Treatment is optimal for jawline, neck and abdomen. You will need 4-6 treatments every 2 weeks. It is best to drink a lot of water for few days after each treatment. Drinking alcohol is not recommended for a week after treatment. Working out should be avoided for 4 days afterward, as well as caffeine use and massages.
