Vampire Facial™ in New Jersey

If you’ve been noticing age lines, skin dullness, and a generally more tired appearance every time you look in the mirror, you may be in need of a vampire facelift. At Sperling Dermatology, we offer this non-surgical facial-rejuvenation option for patients who are interested in restoring a more youthful look.

How Does a Vampire Facial™ Work?

Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino loves coming to Sperling Dermatology for his Vampire Facial™. In a vampire facelift, a refined version of the patient’s blood is used to resolve signs of facial aging. The blood contains several natural growth factors. Harnessing these factors allows us to treat aging signs like:

  • Dullness
  • Paleness
  • Wrinkles
  • Loss of facial volume

When the blood is refined into special parts, it can be used to encourage the growth of elastin and collagen proteins, along with new blood vessels and skin cells. These restore the health of the skin. Because the patient’s own blood is being used as the rejuvenating agent, the treatment is known as an autologous procedure. Autologous procedures lower the chance of allergic reactions and rejection by the body.

The Vampire Facial™ Process

A vampire facelift is a quite simple process compared to surgical facelifts, which require long treatment sessions and periods of uncomfortable recovery time. This treatment only takes around a half-hour to forty minutes to perform.

At the start, a sample of the patient’s blood is drawn. This blood is then centrifuged to separate out the platelets and the plasma, two key components for rejuvenation. The resulting platelet-rich plasma may be mixed with hyaluronic-acid-based dermal fillers for increased benefits. The final product is then gathered in a syringe.

Local anesthetic is used to numb the treatment areas of the face. Once it has taken effect, the treatment serum is injected into the targeted regions, stimulating the revitalization process.

After the Vampire Facial™

Once your vampire facelift is complete, you will be free to return to your normal daily activities immediately without missing a step. You will not need to take any time off from work. Just like with any injection-based treatment, a small degree of bruising, swelling, and redness may be present around the injection sites. These side-effects will disappear shortly.

Over the next several months, the natural and subtle results of your vampire facelift will become evident. During this time, as a result of the growth factors in the special blood, new elastin, collagen, and blood vessels will be forming in the skin and increasing its health.

The results of a vampire facelift treatment last for about one year on average, and in some patients, they can last for up to two years. After this point, patients may be able to get follow-up treatments in order to preserve their results.
