Latissein New Jersey

Do you wish you had naturally long, bold, and beautiful eyelashes? Yes, mascara can add a little something extra to your eyelashes, but it’s not the same as having dark, thick, and long natural lashes. You also have to deal with finding good mascara and taking the time to periodically look in the mirror to make sure it is not running.

How Does Latisse Work?

What if there were a way to enhance the length, color, and thickness of your own eyelashes so that you could have the luscious and alluring eyes you want all day long? Thanks to Latisse, that dream can now come true.

Latisse is the first FDA-approved treatment for enhancing a person’s natural eyelashes. Latisse is a prescription treatment that can be purchased at Sperling Dermatology in New Jersey. Latisse comes in the form of a liquid that is applied to the lash line. Its unique formula contains substances that stimulate and enhance the growth of eyelashes.

Eyelash growth, similar to regular hair growth, occurs in phases. Latisse primarily affects two phases of the eyelash growth cycle. Latisse helps to prolong the growing phase and increases the number of hairs that grow during this phase. This extended growth period, coupled with the benefits provided by Latisse’s formula, allows the eyelashes to grow longer, thicker, and darker. Latisse also expands the lifespan of each fully-grown hair, which means more eyelashes are present at once; this gives the lashes a fuller appearance.

What You Need to Know About Latisse

In order for Latisse to work properly, you need to apply it daily. Most people find that applying Latisse to their lash line just before bed is the most convenient option. Read the application instructions so that you understand the right way to apply the product. It is important that you apply Latisse carefully and precisely, as it can cause hair growth in undesired areas if accidentally applied there.

The results provided by Latisse will only remain as long as daily treatments continue. Once treatments have stopped, the affected eyelashes will slowly shed and the normal appearance of your eyelashes will return.

How Effective Is Latisse?

The idea of having a product that can actually make your natural eyelashes longer, fuller, and bolder may seem too good to be true. Some people are skeptical about how effective Latisse actually is, which can prevent them from ever trying the product for themselves. It takes time for the benefits of Latisse to really kick in. But after around 12 to 16 weeks, you will see a noticeable improvement in the appearance of your eyelashes. Studies have shown that after a treatment period of 16 weeks, on average Latisse is able to:

  • Increase eyelash length by 25%
  • Enhance eyelash color by 18%
  • Increase fullness and thickness by 106%

Latisse Frequently Asked Questions

What is Latisse?

LATISSE is the only FDA-approved product that grows lashes longer, fuller and darker. It is available by prescription only.

How is Latisse used?

Remove any makeup and apply your moisturizer as per your usual daily nighttime routine. If you wear contact lenses remove them as well. You may put them back in 15 minutes after Latisse is applied. Using the brush applicator apply one drop of Latisse liquid to each upper lash line, where you would apply your eyeliner. NEVER APPLY LATISSE TO THE LOWER LASH LINE. Do not use so much that the product is dripping.

When will I see results?

Latisse works over a period of time. Some people start to see results after about a month, however, it can take up to four months to see full results.

What happens if I stop using Latisse?

Just like when you start using Latisse, you will gradually see your lashes go back to their previous appearance.

Are there any side effects associated with Latisse?

The most common side effects are slight itching and/or redness around the eyes reported in clinical studies in approximately 4% of patients.

Will Latisse change my eye color?

It is very rare that Latisse has changed increased pigmentation in the iris. Take care not to apply it to the lower lash line.
